Arrest Made in Connection with Easton Street Shooting in North Charleston
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Law enforcement officials have apprehended a 41-year-old man believed to be responsible for a shooting incident on Easton Street, which occurred on Thursday morning.
Detectives from the esteemed North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) took Kenneth Miller Jr. into custody following allegations that he shot a woman in her 80s at approximately 11:00 a.m.
The victim, an 84-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
After diligent investigation, Miller was identified as the primary suspect in the shooting. Authorities successfully located and apprehended him at his residence within an hour of the incident.

According to an incident report, the victim disclosed to North Charleston officers that she had willingly allowed Miller into her residence. However, during their conversation, Miller unexpectedly brandished a handgun and discharged a single round.
The victim explicitly stated that there had been no argument or provocation preceding the shooting. However, during transportation to the hospital, she informed officials that the suspect had accused her of stealing a bag containing personal belongings.
The incident report stated, “Once the victim denied having the bag, the suspect revealed a handgun and fired a single shot at her before fleeing the scene.”
Kenneth Miller Jr. is currently detained at the Al Cannon Detention Center, facing charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
