Three Arrested After Police Pursuit Ends in Crash near Rowley and Georgetown

ROWLEY, Mass. — Three individuals are now facing charges following a police pursuit that culminated in a crash off Interstate 95 in the vicinity of Rowley and Georgetown on Tuesday afternoon.

Late Tuesday night, authorities provided an update stating that the pursuit commenced when a trooper tried to halt a Dodge Charger for traffic violations. The trooper observed the Charger engaging in what appeared to be an attempt to race other vehicles on I-95 North in Boxford around 2:30 p.m.

However, the trooper lost sight of the speeding vehicle and shortly thereafter, received reports of a crash on the I-95 ramp to Route 133 in Georgetown. According to the police, all three suspects fled from the vehicle at this point.

Upon arrival at the crash site, troopers discovered the abandoned and damaged Charger in nearby woods.




Multiple law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the scene and initiated a search, aided by K9 units, to locate the suspects. At approximately 3:20 p.m., Georgetown police received a call from a resident reporting individuals in the woods behind their residence.

Numerous cruisers converged on the area, leading to the apprehension of all three individuals by troopers.

According to state police, the Dodge Charger was the sole vehicle involved in the crash. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The driver has been identified as 21-year-old Gregory Marmolejo from Lynn. He is scheduled for arraignment in Haverhill District Court, facing charges such as street racing, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

The two passengers, both from Lynn, have been identified as 20-year-old Abel Severino Reyes and 21-year-old David Garcia. They will also appear in Haverhill District Court, charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing.
