According to a detailed police report, officers promptly responded to a distress call reporting a man running down S 24th and Douglas streets, brandishing a running chainsaw and wildly swinging it in the air. The incident took place around 2 a.m. on December 14.

Remarkably, an off-duty La Vista police officer also witnessed the scene and saw Bifano enter the Westbrook Tower Apartment building, located near S 21st and Douglas streets. This crucial observation was included in the police report.

To ensure public safety, multiple officers swiftly arrived at the scene, intensively searching the area, and successfully locating Bifano, as stated in the police report.

Bifano willingly granted officers permission to search his apartment, where they discovered a chainsaw. The chainsaw exhibited damage to its teeth and was still warm to the touch, further supporting the allegations against Bifano, as mentioned in the official police report.
