A Norwalk man, Adonnus Elliott, was apprehended and charged with sexual assault after a tense encounter with law enforcement officers on New Year’s Eve, as reported by the Darien Police Department.

The 33-year-old Elliott is facing charges of fourth-degree sexual assault, disorderly conduct, and breach of peace, according to a news release by the Darien Police Department.

Police Respond to Reports of Indecent Exposure

The authorities received multiple calls at 12:18 p.m. on December 31st, reporting a man walking naked from the waist down along Noroton Avenue. Upon arrival, an officer encountered Elliott, who was later identified as the individual in question, walking south on Noroton Avenue near Heights Road.

According to the police, Elliott appeared agitated and displayed irrational behavior towards the officer. He attempted to walk away but quickly changed direction, running towards the Interstate 95 overpass. In an effort to prevent Elliott from climbing the chain-link fence over I-95, the officer deployed a Taser twice.

Despite being tasered, Elliott managed to break free from the officer and darted into oncoming traffic while repeatedly yelling, “shoot me.” Additional officers arrived at the scene and successfully restrained him. As a precautionary measure, Elliott was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

During the investigation, officers responded to a residence in Darien where Elliott had been staying. According to the police, a woman residing at the property revealed that Elliott had arrived the night before and confessed to sexually assaulting her.
