New York State Police Open Fire on Homicide Suspect in Rockland County

The New York State Police have reported that troopers fired at a homicide suspect during a traffic stop on Wednesday afternoon. This incident took place on the state Thruway in Rockland County, resulting in the unfortunate demise of the sole occupant of the vehicle after they fired shots at the troopers.

The troopers initiated the traffic stop at around 3 p.m. in the town of Ramapo, identifying the vehicle as being associated with a homicide that occurred earlier in the day on Hudson Avenue in Albany. During the encounter, one trooper sustained minor injuries, but the authorities have reassured the public that there is no further threat to their safety. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
