Massachusetts Family Found Dead in Murder-Suicide Inside Sprawling Mansion

Murder-Suicide Confirmed by Officials

A Massachusetts family of three was tragically found dead inside their luxurious mansion just days after the Christmas celebrations. The authorities have revealed that the cause of death was a murder-suicide.

According to a statement released by Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey’s office to the Boston Globe, preliminary autopsy results have confirmed that Teena Kamal, aged 54, and her daughter Arianna Kamal, aged 18, were victims of a homicide by gunshot. The statement further disclosed that Rakesh Kamal, aged 57, the husband and father in the family, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Firearm Investigation Underway

Investigators have discovered that a .40-caliber Glock 22 was used in the fatal shootings. However, the firearm was not registered to Rakesh Kamal. As a result, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has been called in to assist in tracking the gun’s history, as stated by prosecutors.

Discovery of the Tragic Incident

The shocking incident came to light when a relative, identified as Rakesh’s brother, visited their residence in Dover, an affluent town located just 15 miles outside of Boston. Upon arriving at the house, he noticed the front door open and the emergency alarm blaring. Disturbingly, he discovered bloody sheets in Arianna’s room, prompting him to immediately call 911, according to dispatch logs obtained by the Globe.

Describing the scene to the authorities, he said, “We hadn’t been able to get in touch with them, and when I got to the house, the alarm was going off. I found a door that was open, and I was able to get in, and in one of the bedrooms I see his daughter is dead. It looks like she was murdered or something.” He then added, “I went in another bedroom, but I didn’t lift up the sheets to see who was there.”

Possible Domestic Violence Incident

Investigators initially ruled out a break-in, attributing the gruesome killings to a domestic violence incident. The police had no previous knowledge of any issues within the family and had not interacted with them prior to the incident.

Uncovering the Motive

The motive behind this tragic act of violence is still under investigation as authorities continue their diligent efforts to understand the events leading up to the murder-suicide.

Financial Struggles and Foreclosure

Last year, the mansion where the alleged murder-suicide took place, a grand 27-room house situated on a sprawling estate, faced foreclosure. Eventually, it was sold to Massachusetts-based Wilsondale Associates LLC for $3 million. The current assessed value of the property is estimated to be around $6.79 million.

Additionally, the family appeared to have experienced financial difficulties in the past. Legal filings obtained by the Globe revealed that Teena Kamal filed for bankruptcy in September 2022, listing her debts between $1 million and $10 million.

However, her case was dismissed a month later due to her failure to submit the necessary paperwork or pay the filing fee. The matter was officially closed by December of the same year.
