Elderly Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Quincy Prompts Police Investigation

Police in Quincy, Massachusetts, have launched a thorough investigation following a tragic incident that resulted in the death of an elderly pedestrian. The incident occurred on Wednesday near a busy intersection, sending shockwaves through the community.

According to the Quincy Police Department, multiple 911 calls were received around 9:30 a.m., reporting a pedestrian who had been struck by a car. The collision took place outside the 1000 Southern Artery apartment complex, situated near the intersection of South Street and Southern Artery.

Upon arrival, officers found an injured elderly man lying in the street. The victim, an 85-year-old Quincy resident whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was immediately rushed to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Tragically, medical personnel pronounced him dead at the hospital.

The driver involved in the fatal crash demonstrated responsible behavior by immediately dialing 911 and remaining at the scene until authorities arrived.
