A recent months-long investigation into a suspected mail thief and credit card fraudster has resulted in the arrest of three individuals on various charges, including drug and weapon possession and child endangerment. The Santa Rosa Police Department, in a news release, stated that the Property Crimes Investigation (PCI) Team initiated an inquiry into the activities of Michael Stromberg, a 34-year-old resident of Windsor, who was suspected of engaging in extensive fraud and identity theft crimes. Stromberg, who was on parole, was linked to 35 felony violations during the course of the investigation.

On Tuesday, detectives from the PCI and Narcotics Teams, accompanied by K9 units, located Stromberg driving a vehicle on northbound US Highway 101 at the Mendocino Ave off-ramp. Following a traffic stop conducted pursuant to a search warrant, Stromberg was detained without incident.

Simultaneously, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on the 7800 block of Country Meadow Way in Windsor. However, upon arrival, they encountered a woman inside the home who refused to open the door, despite repeated warnings that force would be used. Eventually, detectives forced entry and detained the female occupant, identified as Tamy Alexander, a 38-year-old Windsor resident. Alexander was found in the house with her two minor children.

Further investigation revealed that a male individual had barricaded himself inside the garage. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to coax the subject out, he eventually emerged and was detained peacefully. The individual was identified as Seth Bulcke, a 43-year-old Windsor resident.

A subsequent search of the garage, aided by police K9 “Ghost,” aimed to locate firearms. K9 “Ghost” alerted officers to multiple locations in the garage, where they discovered evidence of firearm manufacturing, illegal firearm parts, including silencers and AR-15 kits, and other related items. Additionally, three handguns were found, one of which resembled a flare gun, another being a privately manufactured 9mm semiautomatic handgun, and a shotgun. Detectives also uncovered methamphetamine, heroin, and drug paraphernalia in the garage.

The investigation led detectives to a storage unit rented by Bulcke in Windsor. A second search warrant was obtained, resulting in the discovery of 16 additional firearms, including assault weapons.

During an extensive search of the residence, detectives found various drug paraphernalia scattered about, including glass pipes, hypodermic syringes, and burned aluminum foil with narcotic residue. Suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, and additional drug paraphernalia were also discovered in the master bathroom and bedroom. Two semiautomatic handguns were found in a drawer in the master bedroom.

Authorities expressed concern for the safety of the children residing in the home due to potential accidental exposure to the drug residue on the paraphernalia, which could have led to severe injury or death.

Michael Stromberg, the primary suspect, was booked into Sonoma County Jail on 37 felonies, including identity theft, elder abuse, forgery, and possession of stolen property. Tamy Alexander, the female occupant, was booked on six charges, including obstructing a peace officer, child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance while armed, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Seth Bulcke, the male subject, was booked on ten charges, including possession of a controlled substance while armed, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, possession of a silencer, possession of metal knuckles, and six counts of possession of an assault weapon.

The Santa Rosa Police Department’s successful investigation highlights their commitment to protecting the community from individuals engaged in illegal activities. The collaboration between various departments and the utilization of search warrants have proven instrumental in bringing these suspects to justice.
