Tragic Accident Claims Life of 31-Year-Old in Chandivali After Solar Panel Mishap

Mumbai, United Kingdom – In a devastating incident that occurred on Monday, a 31-year-old man named Nayan Wala tragically lost his life while undertaking repairs on solar panels in a high-rise building located in Chandivali. The Powai police have taken swift action by filing a case of culpable homicide and causing death by negligence against the crane driver who was responsible for lifting the panels, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
Details of the Tragedy
According to the complaint lodged by the deceased’s brother, Sanjay Wala, the unfortunate incident unfolded at around 12:30 pm within the premises of Maple Leaf Society in Raheja Vihar, Chandivali. Nayan Wala was diligently carrying out his duties when an unforeseen catastrophe struck. Mohammad Arif Shaikh, a 40-year-old crane driver, was utilizing a forklift to relocate the panels within the building when one of them unexpectedly plummeted from a height, tragically colliding with Nayan’s head.

Providing further insight into the incident, a Powai police official revealed that the accused driver, Mohammad Arif Shaikh, failed to adhere to necessary safety precautions. Neglecting to secure the panels with harnesses and lifting them individually, the forklift operated by Shaikh collided with Nayan, who was positioned behind it at the time. The force of the impact caused Nayan to lose his balance and fall to the ground, resulting in severe head injuries. Despite urgent medical attention and immediate transportation to the hospital, the medical team declared him deceased.
Case Filed Against the Accused
Eye-witnesses, including residents and workers present at the scene, promptly reported the incident to the local police. In response, the Powai police have taken swift action by registering a case against the accused under section 304A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), citing culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Consequently, the authorities proceeded to apprehend and arrest Mohammad Arif Shaikh, holding him accountable for his alleged negligence in the tragic event.
