Tragic Explosion in Michigan Claims Lives of Arkansas Family

An unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday when a devastating explosion took place at a residence in Northfield Township, Michigan. Authorities have determined that the explosion was likely caused by the presence of flammable fuel in the air, ruling out any possibility of foul play.

The victims of this tragic incident have been identified as the Bragg family from Monticello, Arkansas. Hope Bragg, 51, her husband Don Bragg, 53, and their children, Kenneth Bragg, 22, and Elizabeth Bragg, 19, all lost their lives in the explosion, as confirmed by the Northfield Township Police Department.

The explosion took place at the residence of Hope Bragg’s father, Richard Pruden, 72, who is currently in critical condition. Another family member, Stephen Bragg, 16, sustained injuries but is now in stable condition.

Located approximately 45 miles (72 kilometers) west of Detroit, the Bragg family was visiting Michigan to celebrate the holiday season. Lieutenant David Powell, who was at the scene, expressed his shock at the extent of the damage caused by the explosion, stating, “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

In terms of their professional lives, Hope Bragg was an esteemed instructor at the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service. Her husband, Don Bragg, worked as a research forester at the U.S. Forest Service, according to information available on their LinkedIn profiles.
