DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office has made significant progress in the investigation of a deadly shooting that occurred on Christmas Eve at a gas station. Two individuals, Koebe Huger and Demetrius Xavier Brown, have been arrested and are now facing charges related to this tragic incident.

Koebe Huger, 27, and Demetrius Xavier Brown, 24, are facing charges in connection to the shooting death of Ian Kyle Ravenel.

Koebe Huger, 27, is now facing multiple charges including attempted murder, unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of a person by a certain person, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, as stated by jail records. On the other hand, Demetrius Xavier Brown, 24, of North Charleston, has been charged with murder, according to Lt. Rick Carson.

Lt. Rick Carson further explained that Koebe Huger’s charges are directly linked to the shooting and injuring of Demetrius Xavier Brown during the same incident. This unfortunate event took place at Parker’s Kitchen, located at the intersection of Ashley Phosphate and Windsor Hill Boulevard, at 11:23 p.m. on December 24.

As the incident unfolded, deputies were swiftly summoned to the gas station, where they discovered 38-year-old Ian Kyle Ravenell lying motionless on his back, having suffered an apparent gunshot wound. The situation escalated when it was revealed that a second victim, later identified as Demetrius Xavier Brown, had arrived at a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach, as mentioned in an incident report.
