Murder Warrant Issued for Larry Nathaniel Hagan in Connection to Fatal Shooting of Store Clerk in Beaumont

BEAUMONT, Texas — Authorities have issued a murder warrant for Larry Nathaniel Hagan, 26, of Needville, in connection to the death of Sheikh Abir-Hossain, 34, a store clerk in Beaumont’s north end. The incident occurred late Friday night and resulted in the tragic loss of a beloved community member.

According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department, one suspect, Keandre Robinson, 19, of Beaumont, was arrested early Saturday morning, approximately three hours after the fatal shooting. However, Hagan remains at large, and authorities are actively searching for him.

Hagan, who has ties to Beaumont, is considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen wearing black jeans and a black hoodie with “NERD” printed on the front. The murder warrant was issued by Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Naomi Doyle, who set Hagan’s bond at $1 million.

Sheikh Abir-Hossain was fatally shot during an aggravated robbery at the Kris Food Mart located at 3090 Gulf St. on Friday night. The incident took place at approximately 10 p.m. and resulted in the tragic loss of a dedicated store clerk.

Authorities have determined that the motive behind the robbery was the theft of cigarettes. No other items or cash were stolen during the incident, indicating that the suspects specifically targeted the cigarettes.

Abir-Hossain leaves behind a devastated wife and 2-year-old daughter, according to a GoFundMe organized by the Bangladesh Student Association at Lamar University. The community has rallied together to support the grieving family during this difficult time.

Robinson, the first suspect arrested, was located just a few houses west of the store in the 1600 block of Delaware. He was taken into custody on a murder warrant and his bond was set at $800,000 by Judge Doyle.

The Beaumont Police Department has expressed their gratitude for the assistance provided by multiple Crime Stoppers tips, which played a crucial role in the investigation and led to Robinson’s arrest. They continue to urge the public to come forward with any information regarding Hagan’s whereabouts.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas at 833-TIPS (8477) or through the P3Tips App on their mobile device. Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $1000 for information leading to an arrest.

As this is a developing story, additional information will be provided as it becomes available. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
