Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the tragic event to PUNCH Metro, stating, “It’s true. We received the report and immediately rushed Inspector Felix to the hospital. Regrettably, he did not survive. We have apprehended one suspect, and the Commissioner of Police has ordered the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Our priority is to identify the assailants, determine their motives, and ensure that justice is served. We condemn this incident in the strongest terms possible. The life of a policeman is as valuable as any other Nigerian citizen, and we will not allow anyone to take it lightly.”

When asked about the reason for the presence of the Lagos police officer in Adamawa State, Nguroje responded, “We will investigate. Unfortunately, we cannot question someone who has been attacked and killed. The command has taken over the investigation, and we will officially communicate with the Lagos command to ascertain the purpose of his visit. Whether it was casual leave, annual leave, special assignments, or any other reason, we will uncover the truth. Right now, our focus is on determining the circumstances surrounding his death.”

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks and dangers faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty. The Nigeria Police Force stands united in its commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of its officers and citizens alike..
