Grieving Mother Arrested After Fleeing Country Following Tragic Murder of Her Children

A heartbroken mother from Colorado, who initially reported a burglar murdering her two children during a home break-in, has been arrested after fleeing the country before facing charges for the murders.

Kimberlee Singler, a 35-year-old mother, made a distress call to 911 in the early hours of December 19, notifying the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) about a burglary at her residence.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered an injured adult female and an 11-year-old girl. Tragically, a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy were found deceased. The deceased children have been identified as Aden and Elianna “Ellie” Wentz, as confirmed by their father’s lawyer.

The CSPD confirmed that the three deceased children were Singler’s offspring. Singler and her surviving daughter received immediate medical attention at the crime scene and were later transported to local hospitals for further treatment.

While the CSPD’s Homicide Unit initiated an investigation, an arrest warrant charging Singler with multiple counts, including Murder in the First Degree, Criminal Attempt – Murder in the First Degree, and Child Abuse, was obtained on December 26.

However, when the authorities went to arrest Singler, she was nowhere to be found. An initial investigation by the CSPD Fugitive Task Force revealed that she had not been seen since December 23, and no one interviewed had any information regarding her whereabouts at that time.

However, a significant development occurred over the weekend, as the CSPD announced on Sunday that Singler had been apprehended in the United Kingdom, over 4,500 miles away from home. The details of her arrest were not disclosed, but the CSPD confirmed that the extradition process was underway to bring her back to the United States.
