The 29-year-old culprit, a resident of Shahdara, previously worked for IndiGo as a Body Mass Index (BMI) Officer.

The arrest was made in response to a complaint filed on December 31, 2023.

“Tisha received a call on her mobile phone from an individual named Ayan Malik, who posed as a representative from IndiGo Airlines and offered her a receptionist position,” stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Rohit Meena.

Tisha underwent online interviews, which she successfully passed. Subsequently, Ayan Malik provided her with another mobile number belonging to Rahul Saxena, who would conduct a BMI interview.

“Tisha participated in an interview conducted by Rahul Saxena, who informed her that the initial monthly salary would be Rs. 28,000. On June 7, 2023, Rahul Saxena visited Tisha’s residence and handed her a joining letter dated June 28, 2023,” the DCP disclosed.

Concurrently, another individual named Sanjay Bangar contacted the complainant regarding her son Nitin Mehra’s potential job at IndiGo.

“Bangar provided Nitin with a joining letter dated July 2, 2023. The complainant paid approximately Rs. 50 Lakhs in various installments,” added the DCP.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the joining letters presented by the accused were counterfeit.

The police arrested Verma, also known as Rahul Saxena, from his residence.

“We are currently conducting further investigations into the entire syndicate,” the DCP concluded.
