Four Members of Arkansas Family Identified as Victims of Fatal House Explosion in Michigan

Four individuals from an Arkansas family were publicly named on Tuesday as the victims of a tragic house explosion that occurred in Michigan over the weekend. The authorities have determined that the explosion, which took place on Saturday, was likely caused by flammable fuel in the air and not the result of foul play.

The Northfield Township Police Department has identified the deceased as Hope Bragg, 51, her husband Don Bragg, 53, and their children, Kenneth Bragg, 22, and Elizabeth Bragg, 19, all hailing from Monticello, Arkansas.

The explosion occurred at the residence of Richard Pruden, 72, who is the father of Hope Bragg. He remains in critical condition following the incident. Stephen Bragg, 16, another member of the family, is in stable condition.

Lieutenant David Powell, who is overseeing the investigation, stated that the explosion completely destroyed the house, which was located approximately 45 miles west of Detroit. The Bragg family had been visiting Michigan to celebrate the holiday.

Powell expressed his shock at the extent of the damage, stating, “I’ve never witnessed anything of this magnitude before.”

Hope Bragg worked as an instructor at the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, while Don Bragg held the position of research forester at the U.S. Forest Service, as indicated on their LinkedIn profiles.
