Chicago Woman Charged with Leaving Four Young Children Home Alone
A 29-year-old woman from Chicago is now facing misdemeanor charges after allegedly leaving four young children unattended at home over the weekend.
On New Year’s Eve, at approximately 1:28 p.m., Chicago police officers were alerted by an 11-year-old boy in the 4800 block of W. Jackson Blvd. The boy informed the officers that he was home alone with other children.

The officers promptly responded to the residence, where they discovered a 1-year-old boy, a 7-year-old boy, and a 4-year-old girl. Due to the unavailability of a guardian, the officers decided to take the children to West Suburban Hospital as a precautionary measure.
After conducting an investigation, law enforcement identified the responsible party as Dominique Bishop-Smith. Bishop-Smith has been charged with four misdemeanor counts of Cause Child to be Endangered.
The Chicago Police Department has not provided any additional details regarding the incident at this time.
