A Brother Arrested for Allegedly Killing Sibling over Sexual Demand in Ogun State

The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended Ibrahim Salisu, a suspect accused of brutally murdering his brother, Malaimi Yellow. The tragic incident occurred in the Araromi Street of Sango-Ota at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Friday.

According to the state command, the 54-year-old Ibrahim had allegedly been persistently pressuring his younger brother for sexual favors. Following countless demands, the accused resorted to using a machete, ultimately ending his brother’s life.

Spokesperson for the command, Odutola Omolola, stated in an exclusive interview with PUNCH Metro on Sunday that Yellow’s lifeless body has been recovered and taken to the Ifo General Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy.

“He has confessed to the crime. He revealed to our officers, who apprehended him, that he killed his brother because he had been incessantly disturbing him for sex. Once the preliminary investigation is concluded, his case will be transferred,” Odutola informed PUNCH Metro.

Recent crime statistics for December 2023, provided exclusively to our correspondent on Sunday, reveal that the state has already witnessed 18 murder cases and an additional eight sexual-related offenses within the month alone.

As a result, the police are actively collaborating with local security agencies to combat the rising wave of criminal activities in Ogun State.
