Noida, India – In a shocking incident that occurred last year in June, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped in the parking lot of Gardens Galleria Mall in Noida’s sector 38. The victim, who was initially too afraid to come forward, filed a complaint with the police on December 30 after being blackmailed by the accused.

According to officials, a case has been registered against five miscreants, including a scrap dealer, and three of them have already been apprehended. The survivor revealed that she was lured into the horrific ordeal under the false promise of a job. It all began when she came into contact with an individual named Rajkumar, who assured her employment opportunities.

Narrating the events, the victim stated, “On June 12, Rajkumar asked me to bring my documents and introduced me to his accomplice, Mehmi. They informed me that Ravi sir would assist me in finding a job. Trusting them, I accompanied them to Gardens Galleria mall on June 19, where they drove the car towards the parking lot.”

Upon reaching the parking lot, three additional men identified as Ravi, Azad, and Vikas joined them. Ravi instructed the survivor to sit inside the car, and suddenly, the men brandished guns and started touching her inappropriately before subjecting her to a brutal gangrape. Shockingly, Ravi recorded the entire ordeal and threatened to harm the victim and her family if she approached the authorities. He even went as far as to threaten to make the video viral.

Overwhelmed by fear, the survivor refrained from reporting the incident until she could no longer bear the blackmail and intimidation. Finally, on December 30, she mustered the courage to file a complaint with the police, leading to the subsequent registration of an FIR under IPC sections 376D (gangrape) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

An official involved in the case stated, “Her statement before the magistrate has been recorded, and dedicated teams have been formed to apprehend the accused. Within 24 hours of the complaint, we successfully apprehended Rajkumar, Vikas, and Azad. However, Ravi and Mehmi remain at large, and our teams are actively working towards their arrest.”

The incident has sparked outrage and concerns over the safety of women in public spaces. Authorities are determined to bring the remaining accused to justice and ensure that such heinous crimes do not go unpunished.

As investigations continue, it is essential for communities to come together and create an environment where victims feel safe and empowered to report such incidents promptly. Public awareness campaigns, stricter security measures, and improved vigilance can play a significant role in preventing such tragic incidents in the future.
