Bengaluru Techie Tragically Falls to His Death While Disposing of Cigarette Ash
Bengaluru witnessed a heart-wrenching incident as a 27-year-old software engineer, Divyanshu Sharma, met a tragic end when he fell from the thirty-third floor of a building while attempting to discard cigarette ash on Friday. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, the young techie’s life was cut short in a sudden and unfortunate turn of events.

The fateful night began with Divyanshu and his friends, Monica and another acquaintance, visiting a popular pub in the city. After a night of revelry, the trio made their way to Monica’s apartment at Bhattarahalli around 2:30 am, seeking rest. However, destiny had something else in store for Divyanshu.
As the other friends dozed off, Divyanshu embarked on tidying up the living room, which was strewn with cigarette butts and ash. It was around 7 am when the tragedy unfolded. With the intention of disposing of the ashes, he ventured onto the balcony. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and plummeted to his death from the apartment’s height.
An official quoted by the Indian Express stated, “When the rest of the friends were asleep in the bedroom, Divyanshu chose to sleep in the living room. At approximately 7 am, while the others were still in deep slumber, he took the initiative to clean the house. It appears that he went to the balcony either to dispose of the cigarette ash or to enjoy some fresh air. Tragically, he lost his balance and met with this unfortunate accident.”
Immediate Discovery of the Deceased
The lifeless body of Divyanshu Sharma was discovered by some residents who promptly raised an alarm through the society’s WhatsApp group. Monica and their friends, upon receiving the distressing message, rushed to the site and were devastated to find him already deceased. Authorities were alerted, and a case of unnatural death was registered. Presently, investigations into the matter are underway.
