Accident – death – Obituary News : Private Funeral Planned for Children Allegedly killed by Mother in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — A private funeral will take place this week for the children believed to have been killed by their mother in Colorado Springs. The victims have been identified as 7-year-old Aden Wentz and 9-year-old Elianna ‘Ellie’ Wentz. The tragic incident came to light after the police received a call reporting a fake burglary at their mother’s residence in Stetson Hills on December 19.

The father, Kevin Wentz, is devastated by the loss of his beloved children. The Colorado Springs Police Department, in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is currently searching for the children’s mother, 35-year-old Kimberly Singler. Singler is wanted on ten charges related to the death of her two children and an alleged attempted murder of her 11-year-old daughter. Authorities have revealed that Singler disappeared after being spotted in the Colorado Springs area on December 23.

According to Wentz’s attorney, Singler is accused of killing her two children, assaulting another child, and causing harm to herself on December 18. This was the same day she learned that a Larimer County judge had ordered law enforcement to locate the children after she failed to hand them over to their father two days earlier. Shockingly, Singler did not contact the police until the early hours of December 19.

The divorce between Wentz and Singler was filed in 2018, and since then, they have been involved in a contentious custody dispute. Singler has repeatedly made serious allegations of child abuse and domestic violence against Wentz. However, Wentz’s attorney has adamantly denied these claims, stating, “Kevin Wentz has never committed an act of domestic violence or abuse against his ex-wife or his children. The repeated allegations made by Ms. Singler during the custody case were timed to coincide with Kevin’s parenting time. The Larimer County Court thoroughly evaluated the allegations and found them to lack credibility. The court further concluded that Kevin posed no threat to the children.”

In light of this heartbreaking tragedy, a GoFundMe page has been set up to provide financial assistance to the Wentz family. Those who wish to contribute can find the online fundraiser at the Wentz Family GoFundMe page.
