Newly Released Body Camera Footage Shows Police Shooting Incident in North Hollywood, California

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) — The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has recently made public body camera footage capturing a police shooting incident that occurred in North Hollywood.

According to authorities, the incident took place last month on Laurel Canyon Boulevard when a man armed with a hatchet approached the police. The man has been identified as Francisco Javier Alba, a 52-year-old individual.

As per the released footage, the man was shot by the police and subsequently transported to the hospital in a stable condition. Prior to the confrontation, the man had reportedly been causing damage inside a nearby business.



Dramatic video footage showcases the moment when Los Angeles police officers shoot a man at close range after he approached them while wielding a hatchet.

Authorities state that the officers attempted to negotiate with Alba and even employed less-than-lethal tactics, but when these measures proved ineffective, they were compelled to use lethal force.
