Bihar Crime News: Elderly Woman Gang-Raped and Brutally Murdered in Nawada, Four Arrested

The police in Bihar’s Nawada have made a breakthrough in a horrifying case involving the gang-rape and murder of a 60-year-old woman. Four individuals have been apprehended in connection with the crime, while one suspect remains at large. The incident took place on December 25th.

Details of the Crime

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sunil Yadav, Vipin Yadav, Pintu Yadav, and Niranjan Yadav. The fifth accused, Karu Yadav, is still on the run. According to reports, the accused gang-raped the elderly woman before brutally mutilating her body. They allegedly chopped off her breasts and slit her throat.

The victim, a resident of Jahana village in Gaya district, had traveled to Nawada with her husband to visit a relative. The incident occurred while her husband went to recharge his mobile phone at a nearby shop, leaving her waiting on the road. At that time, a funeral procession attracted a large crowd, and when her husband returned, he could not locate her.

Ajay Prasad, SDPO Sadar, Nawada, stated, “The police discovered the mutilated body of the victim on December 26th in the Kharidi Bigha area. After reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity, we identified one of the accused, Sunil Yadav.”

During the interrogation, it was revealed that Sunil Yadav enticed the victim and took her on an e-rickshaw ride around town. He was joined by his four friends, and together they took the woman to an isolated location where they committed the heinous crime. Afterward, they slit her throat, chopped off her breasts, and dumped her body in a drain.

Police Investigation

The police swiftly launched an investigation into the case. The CCTV footage played a crucial role in identifying one of the culprits. Efforts are underway to apprehend the fifth accused, Karu Yadav, who is currently on the run.

This shocking incident has once again brought attention to the issue of women’s safety in Bihar. The police and authorities are determined to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice and that such heinous crimes are prevented in the future.
