Police Investigating Acid Attack on 19-Year-Old Clinic Staff in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM: In an ongoing investigation, the police have recorded statements from 12 individuals in connection with a horrific acid attack on a 19-year-old clinic staff in Denai Alam, Shah Alam. The attack, which took place on November 8, has left the community shocked and concerned.

The motive behind the attack is still under investigation, according to OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, who confirmed the matter when contacted recently. The police are leaving no stone unturned to determine the reasons behind this heinous act.

In a recent interview given to Sinar Harian, the victim’s father, Azman Shah Mohammad, shared the financial struggle his family is facing due to his daughter’s medical treatment. Azman revealed that he had to utilize a significant portion of his savings to cover the expenses of his daughter’s surgeries following the attack.

“It has been nearly two months since she began receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital,” Azman said. “Consequently, I have depleted all my savings. The doctors have informed me that my daughter might have to stay in the hospital for a year.”

The victim, identified as Nadia Fasha Qistina, had only been working at the clinic for six days when the horrific incident occurred. She was on her way home when an unidentified man, posing as an e-hailing driver, splashed acid on her and quickly fled the scene.

The acid attack has caused extensive physical and psychological trauma to Nadia. She has been receiving specialized medical care at Sungai Buloh Hospital to treat her injuries. The doctors are doing their best to ensure her recovery, but the road ahead is long and challenging.

This shocking incident has raised concerns about the safety of individuals working in public service sectors, emphasizing the need for improved security measures. The local community and authorities are urging the police to expedite their investigation and bring the perpetrator to justice.
