Millie May Danzey, a 31-year-old woman, was reported missing, and her mother, Landora Danzy, became increasingly worried when she couldn’t get in touch with her daughter.

“I kept calling and calling,” Landora Danzy said. “She never misses any holidays from these kids, I knew something was wrong.”

The investigation took a grim turn when the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department conducted a search at Green Needles Court, looking for Cedric Watts, who had also been reported missing. Tragically, Watts was found dead on Wednesday afternoon near Green Needles Court, approximately seven miles from his home and 14 miles away from his intended destination.

The discovery of the two bodies has left family and friends devastated. Landora Danzy described her daughter as having a good heart and always willing to help others.

“I’m sorry for Mr. Cedric. I knew him for four months because he comes here with my daughter,” Landora said. “She would let people in and feed them and all, she was so nice.”

As the Danzy family continues to grieve and search for answers, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Millie May Danzey and Cedric Watts.

Landora Danzy expressed her desire for justice, not only for her daughter but also for the four children she left behind.

“People know stuff, but they’re not saying anything they know,” said Landora. “They got fingerprints of everybody that has been in my daughter’s house, God is going to handle this.”

WCNC Charlotte also spoke to Cedric Watts’ mother, who mentioned that it was completely out of character for him not to check in with the family. He had missed out on their Christmas Eve tradition of giving gifts to the family’s children and his church’s Christmas service, something he had never skipped before. According to his mother, Cedric had not experienced any significant life events or stressful situations that could have impacted his mental health.

While the investigation is ongoing, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department stated that foul play does not appear to be a factor at this time.

The Charlotte community is devastated by this tragic loss. The memory of Millie May Danzey and Cedric Watts will live on as their loved ones seek justice and closure.
