A prominent Indian family’s image of prosperity and happiness was shattered on Thursday night when a teenage girl and her parents were tragically found dead in their opulent $5 million mansion in Dover, Massachusetts. The incident is believed to be a result of domestic violence, casting a dark shadow over their seemingly perfect lives.

The victims have been identified as Rakesh Kamal (57), his wife Teena (54), and their 18-year-old daughter Ariana. The shocking discovery was made around 7:30 p.m. by a concerned relative who had not heard from the family for a couple of days.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey described the incident as a “terrible tragedy.” A firearm was found near the body of Rakesh Kamal, but the exact cause of death and motive remain unknown until the medical examiner’s ruling, expected later on Friday.

Financial Struggles Amidst Luxury

Despite residing in a luxurious mansion, the Kamal family faced recent financial difficulties that cast a shadow over their seemingly idyllic life. The property had gone into foreclosure a year ago and was eventually sold for $3 million, significantly lower than the $4 million they had paid for it in 2019.

According to property records obtained by The Post, the family’s sprawling mansion was purchased by Massachusetts-based Wilsondale Associates LLC. Prior to their financial troubles, the couple ran an education systems company called EduNova, which was established in 2016 but dissolved in December 2021, as per state records.

Teena Kamal, a Harvard alumna with extensive experience in education and technology, filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in September 2022. However, the case was dismissed two months later due to insufficient documentation, further highlighting the financial strain the family was facing.

A Promising Future Tragically Cut Short

Ariana, the couple’s only daughter, was a brilliant young woman pursuing her studies in neuroscience at Middlebury College, a prestigious private liberal arts school. Her promising future was abruptly cut short by the devastating events that unfolded on Thursday night.

No History of Prior Incidents

Adding to the shock and confusion surrounding this tragedy, District Attorney Morrissey confirmed that there were no previous police reports or domestic incidents linked to the Kamal family. This absence of prior warning signs makes the event even more perplexing, emphasizing the hidden struggles that can lurk beneath a seemingly perfect facade.
