Man Arrested for Worcester Stabbing Incident

WORCESTER, Mass. – Authorities have apprehended a suspect in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred in Worcester on Friday night. The accused, identified as Jose Rivera, 35, from Worcester, has been charged with armed assault to murder.

At approximately 9:48 p.m., Worcester Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the vicinity of 765 Main Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a 43-year-old male victim with severe injuries. The victim was swiftly transported to a local hospital, and his current condition remains unknown.

Following conversations with witnesses and analysis of surveillance footage, detectives released images of a male and a female believed to be associated with the crime.

According to authorities, an officer stationed at Austin and Irving Street, while on duty, noticed the couple walking and promptly called for backup. During a pat frisk on the male suspect, later identified as Jose Rivera, the officer allegedly discovered a knife with dried blood and other evidence linking him to the stabbing.

Rivera was swiftly taken into custody.
