Fresno County Teen Arrested for Allegedly Killing Parents

Fresno County detectives have apprehended a 14-year-old boy on charges of murdering his parents at their residence. The tragic incident has left the local community in shock and disbelief.

The victims have been identified as Lue Yang, 37, and Se Vang, 37, both parents of the accused teenager. In addition to the fatalities, the boy’s 11-year-old sister sustained severe injuries but is expected to recover after undergoing surgery, according to a statement released by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest came after the boy contacted the police on Wednesday evening, claiming that an intruder had broken into their house and attacked his family before fleeing in a pickup truck. Responding deputies arrived at the boy’s residence in Miramonte, located approximately 50 miles east of Fresno, where they discovered the lifeless bodies of the parents. The injured sister was immediately transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Fresno County Sheriff John Zavoni, during a news conference on Friday, revealed that the boy’s 7-year-old brother was also present in the house but remained unharmed. The younger sibling is currently under the care of other family members.

Upon further investigation, authorities determined that the boy had fabricated the break-in story and used multiple weapons to carry out the attack on his family members. Sheriff Zavoni refrained from disclosing specific details about the weapons used, citing the ongoing investigation.

Zavoni stated that the boy’s statements to the police contained numerous inconsistencies. Detectives concluded that no one else was present at the scene during the time of the incident, and no truck was seen leaving the premises. Additionally, the boy’s sister and other individuals were interviewed by the investigators, leading to the identification of the 14-year-old as the prime suspect.

The authorities are currently exploring possible motives for the attack, as well as the reason why the 7-year-old boy was spared. Sheriff Zavoni expressed that his department had never received any prior calls for service at the family’s residence before this tragic event.

The 14-year-old suspect now faces two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. The legal proceedings will be conducted while considering the boy’s status as a minor.

Sheriff Zavoni expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic incident, acknowledging the lifelong impact on the surviving children. “Even though we have made an arrest, those two other children have lost their parents forever, and they’re 7 and 11 years old. That’s a very, very traumatic thing to have to live from this point forward without your mom and dad,” he stated.
