In a shocking incident of road rage, a cab driver was brutally stabbed to death by three young boys on motorcycles in south Delhi. The incident occurred when the driver failed to make way for the boys on a narrow road congested with heavy traffic, leading to a confrontation.

The deceased, identified as Manoj Kumar, resided in Sangam Vihar and worked as a cab driver for a private company in Gurugram.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Chandan Chowdhary provided details of the incident, stating that all three accused, who are minors, have been apprehended by the police.

According to the DCP, the victim had picked up five BPO employees from Malviya Nagar and another from Mehrauli on Thursday evening. As the cab got caught in traffic congestion in Mehrauli, which is notorious for its narrow streets, three boys on a scooty approached from behind and demanded space to pass through.

Given the lack of space on the narrow road, the cab driver was unable to comply with their request. This led to a heated argument between the two sides, culminating in one of the scooter riders stabbing Kumar in the chest with a knife. The assailants then fled the scene, leaving the victim in critical condition.

Manoj Kumar was immediately rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, but the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

The police have registered a case of murder and have successfully apprehended all three accused, who are minors. The body of the deceased cab driver has been sent for post-mortem examination.

This incident adds to the growing number of road rage cases in the national capital. Just recently, a middle-aged taxi driver was brutally beaten to death by two cousins in west Delhi. Three youths were arrested in connection with that incident.

In another tragic incident in August, a 36-year-old man named Harpreet Gill, who worked as a senior manager in Amazon, was shot dead while his uncle Govind Singh narrowly escaped death in a brutal case of road rage. The altercation arose when one vehicle had to make way for another.

The alarming rise in road rage incidents in Delhi has resulted in the loss of several precious lives. Experts suggest that the stress of driving in congested city roads can trigger impatience among motorists, leading to reckless behavior and, at times, fatal violence.
