14-Year-Old Boy Arrested for Allegedly Killing Parents and Attacking Sister in Fresno County Home

A shocking incident unfolded in Fresno County, California, as a 14-year-old boy was taken into custody on Friday after allegedly murdering his parents and attempting to harm his 11-year-old sister in their Miramonte residence. The authorities were alerted to the incident on Wednesday night when a 911 call reported a break-in and attack, according to Sheriff John Zanoni.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered the lifeless bodies of the parents and the injured sister. Fortunately, the 7-year-old sibling remained unharmed and was placed under the care of relatives, as stated by Sheriff Zanoni.

The initial account provided by the teenage boy claimed that an intruder had broken into their home, attacked the family, and fled in a pickup truck. However, detectives soon noticed inconsistencies in his story, leading to his subsequent arrest. “He fabricated the story of the break-in,” revealed Sheriff Zanoni.

There were minor scratches on the teenager, but there were no signs of self-inflicted injuries, according to Sheriff Zanoni. Due to his status as a minor, the suspect’s identity has been withheld. The victims were identified as Lue Yang and Se Vang, both 37 years old. The exact cause and manner of their deaths are still pending investigation, stated a spokesperson from the sheriff’s office.

While the sister sustained severe injuries, she is expected to survive after receiving trauma care, reassured Sheriff Zanoni. The authorities are currently in the process of cataloging the weapons used in the attacks. The sheriff mentioned that some of the weapons employed in this violent act are not uncommon in rural areas.

Miramonte, the community where this tragic incident occurred, is situated in the Sierra Nevada mountains, approximately 40 miles west of Mount Whitney.

The motive behind this horrifying act remains unknown, as per Sheriff Zanoni. The authorities had not previously visited the household, and it is unclear whether formal charges have been filed or if legal representation has been obtained for the suspect. Requests for comments from the Fresno County public defender’s office have gone unanswered.

The teenager is currently being held in a juvenile facility, facing allegations of murder and attempted murder, added the sheriff.

“It is extremely tragic,” expressed Sheriff Zanoni, highlighting the devastating nature of this incident.
