Srinagar Truck Driver Dies Mysteriously During Police Check in Udhampur
Srinagar, December 29: In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old truck driver, identified as Tirlochan Singh from Jammu, lost his life under mysterious circumstances during a routine police check at Jakhani Check Naka in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

According to initial reports, Tirlochan Singh was transporting a load of fruits from Kashmir to Maharashtra when his truck was intercepted by the police at Jakhani Check Naka. What transpired during the check has raised serious concerns, as transporters allege that the driver was subjected to fatal beatings by the police.
The transporters, deeply distressed by the incident, are demanding a thorough investigation into the matter. They urge the authorities to uncover the truth behind the driver’s untimely demise and hold those responsible accountable.
Following the tragedy, the body of the deceased driver was promptly taken to the Government Medical College in Udhampur for a detailed autopsy. Subsequently, the body was handed over to the grief-stricken family members for the final rites.
Providing an update on the situation, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Udhampur, Anwar-ul-Haq, stated that during the routine checking at Jakhani Check Naka, the driver suddenly fainted. Recognizing the severity of the situation, he was immediately rushed to the Associated Hospital at Government Medical College in Udhampur for medical attention.

ASP Anwar-ul-Haq further informed that an official inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the driver’s tragic demise. The investigation aims to shed light on the circumstances leading to his sudden collapse during the check.
This unfortunate incident has left the transporters’ community and locals in shock. They are seeking justice for the deceased driver and demanding stringent action against those found responsible for his death.
