Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Two Women at Gunpoint in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A shocking incident of sexual assault has led to the arrest of a man in Nashville. The Metropolitan Police Department reported that on Christmas morning, a woman came forward and informed detectives that she had been sexually assaulted at gunpoint while sleeping under the threshold of a closed downtown business. The suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Treavon Midgett, and investigators were able to review surveillance video footage that captured the incident as well as a vehicle of interest.

In a separate incident that occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 27, Midgett met another victim at a bar located in the 2900 block of Gallatin Pike. The suspect struck up a conversation with the victim, who eventually agreed to go downtown with him. Once inside Midgett’s car, the victim noticed that the interior door panel was missing, and there was no door handle. Feeling scared and trapped, she was unable to exit the vehicle.

According to authorities, Midgett sexually assaulted the victim at gunpoint before eventually driving her to her home. However, she managed to escape, run inside her house, lock the door, and immediately contact the police. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that the door had been forcibly kicked in. The victim had sought refuge in a bedroom while Midgett fled the area.

After an intensive investigation, detectives apprehended Midgett on Thursday, Dec. 28. During the subsequent interview, he confessed to being the individual captured in the surveillance video from the Christmas Day incident. Additionally, he admitted to meeting the second victim on Dec. 27.

As a result of the investigation and evidence, Midgett has been charged with three counts of aggravated rape, rape, and aggravated kidnapping.
