Tallapoosa Man Apprehended in Haralson County After High-Speed Pursuit

A resident of Tallapoosa, Dwayne Scott Archer, aged 43, was taken into custody on Thursday following a swift response by a vigilant Haralson County sergeant who spotted his vehicle, leading to a high-speed chase and eventual arrest.

Archer now faces multiple charges, including fleeing to elude, reckless driving, and five additional traffic-related offenses. According to the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office, Archer was driving a maroon pickup truck, which matched the description provided in a previous crime report.

The astute sergeant attempted to pull Archer over, but instead of complying, Archer accelerated, initiating a high-speed pursuit that concluded in the 200 block of King Gin Road.

Following the halt of the truck, Archer made a desperate attempt to escape on foot, prompting law enforcement to enlist the assistance of a K-9 unit in order to apprehend him. Jail records also indicate that Archer is facing charges related to a violation of probation.

Consequently, Archer was swiftly booked into the Haralson County Jail without the possibility of posting bond.
