Kanpur Woman Arrested for Kidnapping Three-Year-Old Boy

Kanpur police apprehended a woman on Wednesday for allegedly kidnapping a three-year-old boy from a Community Health Centre (CHC) in Shivrajpur. The incident occurred on Tuesday when the accused, Puja Chauhan, who resides in Gaura Newada, took the child away from the hospital.

The motive behind the kidnapping was revealed by the police, stating that Puja had been separated from her husband due to personal conflicts and was feeling depressed as her husband had taken their two children with him. Missing her own children, Puja decided to kidnap a child and started visiting hospitals.

On Tuesday, while Aruna Devi brought her three-year-old son, Satyam, to the CHC for rabies vaccination, Puja, who was also present at the hospital, took advantage of the situation. She tempted Satyam with a toffee and managed to take him away while his mother was busy completing the formalities at the reception.

As soon as Aruna realized that her son was missing, she immediately informed the authorities at the CHC, who in turn alerted the local police. The police promptly took action and arrested Puja Chauhan. She has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and is currently in custody.
