“Motorcyclist Christopher Moral Dies in Tragic Accident Involving Cement Mixer Truck in Cebu City”

A fatal road accident occurred on Thursday, December 28, 2023, in Cebu City, resulting in the untimely demise of a motorcyclist. Christopher Moral, aged 43, hailing from Barangay Pakna-an, Mandaue City, tragically lost his life after being hit by a cement mixer truck along S. Osmeña Street, in the North Reclamation Area, specifically in Barangay Tejero. The incident took place around 9:40 p.m.

According to available CCTV footage, the unfortunate collision took place when Moral attempted to pass the cement mixer truck from its right side. In an unfortunate turn of events, the truck struck Moral, causing him to fall off his motorcycle and subsequently be run over by the heavy vehicle.

Due to the severity of his head injury, Moral was immediately rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The loss of Christopher Moral has left his family and loved ones devastated.

The truck driver involved in the accident, Sergio Villaflor, aged 34 and a resident of Barangay Balao in Barili town, southwest Cebu, has been apprehended and is currently in custody at the Waterfront Police Station 3. Villaflor confessed that he did not see Moral before the collision occurred. However, he did hear a tremendous impact coming from behind, which compelled him to stop.

The incident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance while operating heavy vehicles. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident to ensure justice is served for Christopher Moral and his grieving family.
