Marquisha Williams, a 29-year-old woman, was reported missing on December 20, as stated in a news release issued by the St. Louis County police department. The Cook County medical examiner confirmed on Friday that the body found in the Algonquin Woods, located near the 2100 block of East Algonquin Road, belonged to Williams.

An autopsy conducted on Williams revealed that she died as a result of strangulation. The St. Louis County police department announced on Wednesday that her ex-boyfriend, Trenton Ivy, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with her death.

Both Williams and Ivy resided in St. Louis. Ivy, who was already in custody in Racine, Wisconsin for unrelated charges, confessed to killing Williams. Authorities in Racine apprehended him while he was driving Williams’ vehicle, which contained “apparent blood and biological materials,” along with her personal belongings.

Williams, who leaves behind four children, was a mother according to various published reports.
