New Hampshire Police Respond to Car Crash Involving a Grinch Costume-Clad Driver
New Hampshire police officers were taken aback when they responded to a car crash on Christmas night, only to find that the driver was wearing a complete Grinch costume. The incident occurred in Exeter, New Hampshire, when the driver, identified as 31-year-old Jon C. Williamson, lost control of his vehicle around a curve. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, as confirmed by the police.
The crash took place at The Word Barn, a popular performance venue. Williamson’s silver Honda CR-V plowed through the establishment’s lawn, causing significant damage to the sign, mailbox, and several lights. The car itself suffered extensive front-end damage, including a broken windshield and rear driver’s side window, rendering it inoperable.
“This was certainly an unusual situation. Our officers never expected to arrive at the scene and find the driver dressed as the Grinch. However, considering it was Christmas night, it wasn’t entirely surprising. Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt,” stated Police Chief Stephan Poulin.
A post on The Word Barn’s Facebook page revealed that the driver was uninsured. It also mentioned that this incident was not the first time their road sign had been destroyed, but it was indeed the first time it had been demolished by someone dressed as the Grinch. It appears that the Grinch is no longer content with stealing gifts alone.
Over the years, the Grinch has taught us valuable lessons. He has shown us that Christmas is more than just materialistic presents under a tree, emphasizing the importance of love and compassion. Now, with this peculiar car crash, the Grinch serves as a reminder of the perils of distracted driving.
