Man Charged After Shooting Another Man During Altercation in Washington Park Neighborhood

CHICAGO (CBS) – A 21-year-old man from Oswego, Illinois, was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder after shooting another man in the face during a fight in the Washington Park neighborhood on Wednesday. The incident took place in the 5600 block of South Michigan Avenue.
The suspect, identified as Quijuan Waters, was apprehended by Chicago police officers at around 11:37 a.m. in the 5600 block of South Wabash Avenue. The victim, a 24-year-old male, sustained critical injuries and was immediately transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment.

According to the authorities, Waters was quickly identified as the perpetrator responsible for the shooting. His motive for the altercation remains unknown at this time.
Waters is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing on Friday, where further details about the incident are expected to emerge.
