“Jordan Zanzuri, 27, Survives Miami Helicopter Crash That Killed Pilot Father Clement Zanzuri, 71”

Accident – death – Obituary News : Jordan Zanzuri, a 27-year-old woman, has been named as the survivor of a tragic helicopter crash that took the life of her father, Clement Zanzuri, 71. The incident occurred just outside of Miami Executive Airport, where the father and daughter were traveling to from Fort Myers on Wednesday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the single-engine Hughes 369 helicopter spiraling out of control before crashing into a canal. The helicopter quickly sank, leaving Jordan trapped inside. However, rescuers were only able to locate the wreckage after spotting Jordan swimming to the canal bank, frantically calling for help.

Miami Detective Alvaro Zabaleta explained that divers were immediately sent into the water to search for any additional passengers. They managed to free Clement Zanzuri from the wreckage and performed CPR on the canal bank, but sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Jackson Memorial South Trauma Center. Jordan, on the other hand, sustained non life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the same hospital for treatment.

Clement Zanzuri was the president of Stoneworks Inc, a Miami-based supplier of countertops for bathrooms and kitchens. His daughter, Jordan, graduated from Columbia University last year and worked for her father’s company for nearly three years. She currently coaches students for the Law School Admission Test.

The recovery team successfully retrieved the downed helicopter from the canal earlier today with the assistance of a crane. The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homicide Bureau and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched investigations to determine the cause of the crash. Peter C. Knudson from the NTSB stated that they will be examining various factors, including flight track data, air traffic control communications, maintenance records, weather conditions, the pilot’s license and experience, crash videos, and witness statements.

This tragic incident has left the local community in shock. Witnesses reported seeing the helicopter flying unusually low before the crash, prompting concerns about the safety of the area. The investigation will delve into the pilot’s behavior in the 72 hours leading up to the flight to identify any potential issues that may have compromised his ability to operate the aircraft safely.
