Accident – death – Obituary News : Jamel Bernard Williams, aged 36, and Kayla Nicole Pyle, aged 34, both residents of Charlotte, have been identified as suspects in a violent attack on an Indian Land Chipotle employee. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating these individuals.

The incident took place on Sunday, December 10, just after 9 p.m. along Charlotte Highway. Deputies arrived at the scene to find a 20-year-old victim and witnesses who provided details of the assault. However, both Williams and Pyle had already fled the scene.

According to the victim, an argument over an order had escalated between her and Pyle. As a result, the victim decided to end her shift early and leave. However, as she was exiting the restaurant through one exit, Williams entered from another and forcefully pushed her to the ground. Williams proceeded to physically assault her by hitting her, pulling her hair, and jerking her around. Pyle joined in the attack shortly after.

Although a male juvenile was present with Pyle and Williams during the incident, he has not been identified and will not face charges, as stated by deputies. The victim, who reported being in pain, declined treatment at the scene but sought medical attention independently afterward. The extent of her injuries remains unknown.

A witness provided the police with a description of the suspects’ getaway vehicle, a Dodge Charger, along with its license plate number. Additionally, store surveillance footage and video recordings from witnesses were also handed over to the authorities. With the assistance of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, deputies were able to identify Williams and Pyle.

Arrest warrants were issued for Williams and Pyle on Wednesday, December 27. Williams is facing charges of first-degree assault and battery, while Pyle is charged with second-degree assault and battery.

Sheriff Barry Faile expressed his concern over the unprovoked attack, stating, “I don’t know what was said between Pyle and the victim, but the victim was leaving for home and was chased down from behind by Williams and attacked in the dining room of the restaurant. The assault was completely unjustified. I hope the victim has recovered from her injuries. I appreciate the help we got from Charlotte Mecklenburg PD to identify Williams and Pyle, and I encourage them to turn themselves in and let the judicial system run its course in this case.”
