The four individuals, three men, and one woman, were sentenced to death on charges of “moharebeh” (waging war against God) and “corruption on Earth” due to their alleged collaboration with the Zionist regime. According to Mizan, the group had committed significant actions against the country’s security, operating under the guidance of Mossad.

The three men involved in the case were identified as Vafa Hanareh, Aram Omari, and Rahman Parhazo, while the woman was named Nasim Namazi. In addition to kidnapping Iranian security forces to extract intelligence, they were also accused of setting fire to the cars and apartments of several agents.

Furthermore, several others who were associated with the same group received prison sentences of ten years each, as revealed by Mizan. Unfortunately, no additional details regarding these individuals were provided.

Iranian intelligence had reportedly placed the group under surveillance for a minimum of four months, beginning in January 2022 until their arrest in May. The group was apprehended in a neighboring country and subsequently transferred to Iran, according to the state-run news agency, Irna.

These executions come shortly after an Israeli airstrike in a Damascus neighborhood resulted in the death of Sayyed Razi Mousavi, a high-ranking Iranian general. Although Iranian officials and allied militant groups had vowed revenge for Mousavi’s killing, no immediate retaliatory strikes were launched.

The funeral of the long-time adviser of the Iranian paramilitary Revolutionary Guards in Syria was held in Tehran on Thursday. Iran accused Israel of being responsible for the airstrike, and during the funeral, chants of “death to Israel” reverberated throughout the gathering. Mousavi played a crucial role in coordinating the military alliance between Syria and Iran, forming a significant part of Iran’s regional network of allies.

Israel, on its part, is concerned about Iran’s alleged acceleration in the delivery of rockets and missiles through Syria. There are also fears that Iran is attempting to transfer defense systems against Israeli helicopters and UAVs to Hezbollah, the Iranian-aligned militia based in Lebanon.

The strike against Mousavi is widely perceived as a warning to Iran, cautioning against any further escalation in support provided to Hezbollah.

With these recent developments, tensions in the region continue to escalate, and the situation remains highly volatile. The execution of the four individuals accused of collaborating with Israel further underscores the deep-rooted hostilities between Iran and Israel, which have long been engaged in a complex geopolitical rivalry..
