A woman in Florida is facing charges of evidence tampering and resisting officers after allegedly hiding gun shell casings in her body. According to arrest records and a police affidavit obtained by Law&Crime, Destiny Pendleton, 23, was arrested on December 27 following reports of a shooting in Leesburg. Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered a deceased 37-year-old man covered in blood.

The man, identified as Lekendre Hall, was found lifeless next to Pendleton, who was subsequently taken into custody. Pendleton then attempted to evade the officers, running to the back of the house, climbing a fence into a neighbor’s yard, and ultimately jumping off, resulting in her detention without further incident.

During a pat-down search, officers noticed “obstructions” resembling spent shell casings in Pendleton’s left front pocket. At first, they discerned three or four shell casings. Pendleton allegedly confirmed that the items were taken from the crime scene, but when the arresting officer attempted to retrieve them, they had mysteriously vanished. Pendleton then denied any knowledge of the missing casings.

A subsequent search, conducted with the assistance of a female officer, revealed that Pendleton had concealed three of the casings in her private area. The officers successfully retrieved the hidden evidence.

The man accused of killing Lekendre Hall, Kevin Harrison, 19, surrendered himself to authorities on Friday. The Leesburg Police Department has not released his arrest record at this time.

Law enforcement officials are increasingly faced with unique challenges when it comes to apprehending suspects. This incident highlights the lengths some individuals will go to tamper with evidence and evade justice. The discovery of the hidden shell casings underscores the importance of thorough searches and the dedication of law enforcement officers to uncover the truth.
