Florida Woman Charged with Evidence Tampering and Resisting Officers After Hiding Gun Shell Casings in Privates
A woman in Florida has been charged with evidence tampering and resisting officers after police say she concealed gun shell casings in her private area that she had collected from the scene of a fatal shooting.
According to the arrest records and a police affidavit obtained on Friday by Law&Crime, Destiny Pendleton, 23, was arrested on December 27th after the police received calls about a shooting at a residence in Leesburg. When the police arrived at the scene, they discovered a 37-year-old man covered in blood and unresponsive.
The man, later identified as Lekendre Hall, was deceased, and Pendleton was found standing next to his body, according to the police. Pendleton allegedly attempted to flee when she saw the officer and ran towards the back of the house, scaling a fence into a neighbor’s yard and then jumping off, resulting in her fall to the ground.

She was apprehended without incident and during a pat-down search, officers noticed “obstructions in her left front pocket that appeared to be spent shell casings.” Initially, officers were able to identify three or four shell casings, and when they questioned Pendleton about the items, she allegedly confessed that she had taken them from the crime scene during the pursuit. However, when an arresting officer attempted to retrieve the casings from Pendleton’s pocket, they had vanished. When asked about their whereabouts, Pendleton claimed ignorance, as stated in the affidavit.
Following a search conducted with the assistance of a female officer, three of the shell casings were located inside Pendleton’s “front private area,” where she had transferred them from her front left pocket. This discovery led to Pendleton being charged with evidence tampering and resisting officers.
The man accused of killing Lekendre Hall, Kevin Harrison, 19, surrendered himself to authorities on Friday. However, a copy of his arrest record was not immediately available upon request to the Leesburg Police Department.
