Two People Killed in Tragic Head-On Crash in Stanislaus County Identified

STANISLAUS COUNTY – The two individuals who tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision on Highway 132 in Stanislaus County last week have been identified, according to the coroner’s office.

The driver of a 2007 Infiniti was identified as 26-year-old Emmanuel Villa-Angel from San Jose, while the passenger was identified as 25-year-old Juan Torres Vazquez from Sunnyvale.

The devastating four-vehicle crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. on December 20th on Highway 132, just west of North Gates Road. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the Infiniti fully engulfed in flames. Unfortunately, both Villa-Angel and Vazquez were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Infiniti, driven by Villa-Angel, was traveling east on Highway 132 when it crossed over the double yellow lines and side-swiped another vehicle. The Infiniti then rotated counterclockwise and collided with a Chevrolet SUV, while another vehicle crashed into the rear of the SUV.

In addition to the fatalities, two other individuals sustained major injuries and were transported to the hospital. The current status of their conditions remains unknown.

It is currently unclear whether Villa-Angel and Vazquez were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and the CHP is investigating whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.

As a result of the accident, Highway 132 had to be closed for approximately three hours to allow for investigation and cleanup.
