Police Investigate Deadly Incident of Domestic Violence in Dover, Massachusetts

DOVER, Mass. (AP) — Authorities in Dover, a wealthy Massachusetts town located approximately 19 miles west of Boston, are currently conducting an investigation into a tragic incident of domestic violence that resulted in the deaths of a couple and their teenage daughter.

The distressing discovery was made by the police after responding to a 911 call at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. A concerned relative, who had gone to check on the family, entered the home and found one of the deceased individuals. Upon further inspection, the bodies of an adult male, an adult female, and their 18-year-old daughter, identified as Teena Kamal, Rakesh Kamal, and Ariana Kamal respectively, were found.

During a press conference held on Friday, Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey revealed that a firearm was recovered near Rakesh Kamal’s body. However, the medical examiner’s office is still in the process of determining the exact cause and manner of their deaths.

District Attorney Morrissey emphasized that this tragic incident highlights how domestic violence can occur across all economic and social backgrounds. He further stated that there were no prior reports of violence or any domestic issues associated with the address.

Addressing the media, Morrissey expressed his condolences to the entire Kamal family, stating, “This is very unfortunate and our hearts go out to the entire Kamal family on this terrible tragedy.”

While the investigation is still in its early stages, law enforcement authorities have stated that there is currently no immediate threat to the Dover community related to these deaths. The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office issued a statement, saying, “Although the evidence available at this time does not indicate the involvement of any outside party, it suggests that this is a deadly incident of domestic violence.”

Dover, known for its affluence, is regarded as one of the wealthiest communities in the state of Massachusetts.
