Man and Woman Shot Dead in Siwan District, Bihar

PATNA: Tragedy struck Siwan district in Bihar on Wednesday night as unidentified miscreants shot and killed a man and a woman in the Barharia police station area. The victims, identified as Shailesh Sharma alias Aneesh (28) and Nikhat Parveen (35), were found lying on the road by a police patrolling team. They were immediately rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, the doctors declared them dead upon arrival.

Shailesh Sharma, a compounder, and Nikhat Parveen, the wife of Zafarul Haq, a government school teacher, were residents of Sipaha Khas village under the jurisdiction of Manjhagarh police station. The incident occurred when Nikhat had gone to the hospital to visit her sister, Salaha Parveen, who is currently admitted there. On her way back home, she accepted a lift from Shailesh. However, criminals intercepted them, opened fire, and fled the scene, leaving both victims fatally wounded.

Barharia SHO Pankaj Kumar stated, “Shailesh left home at 7 am in the morning and was supposed to return at 7 pm. However, he did not return until late at night. Both victims sustained bullet injuries to their chests, indicating that someone shot them at close range. The motive behind the incident is still unknown, and the police are actively investigating the case to establish the reasons behind their murder.”

Shailesh Sharma’s sister was scheduled to get married on February 2. He had been married to Chandani for three years, and they have a one-and-a-half-year-old son. On the other hand, Nikhat Parveen’s husband is a teacher in a government school, and the couple has three children.
