A tragic incident unfolded in Pine Bluff, as a 31-year-old man was discovered dead with gunshot wounds in the early hours of Thursday, according to a statement released by the Pine Bluff Police Department.

Gunfire Reported, Police Respond

The distressing incident came to light shortly after midnight when local law enforcement officers swiftly responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of 313 E. 21st Ave.

Upon receiving a call from a concerned citizen, the dispatchers were informed that a car in the area had its windows shattered, possibly with a person still inside. Responding promptly, the officers arrived at the scene and discovered the parked vehicle just off 21st Avenue.

Identity of the Victim

The sole occupant of the car was identified as Zeavon Irby, a 31-year-old individual who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was found unresponsive. Tragically, despite the efforts of emergency responders, Irby was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative from the Jefferson County coroner’s office, as confirmed by the police.
