Accident – Death – Obituary News : MARION, Ill. (KFVS) – A woman has been arrested and arrest warrants have been issued for two men following the theft of a camper on Christmas Day in Williamson County. The incident occurred around 10:05 a.m. when deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen camper on Thompsonville Road in rural Williamson County. Upon their arrival, the deputies determined that the camper had been stolen at approximately 7:15 a.m.

During their investigation, the deputies were able to obtain video surveillance footage from a nearby residence, which showed an orange Hummer leaving the scene with the stolen camper. Thankfully, a concerned citizen followed the vehicle as it traveled south on Thompsonville Road and managed to record the license plate of the Hummer.

Later that day, at around 2:08 p.m., deputies located the suspect vehicle at a Huck’s gas station in Marion. The driver of the Hummer, identified as Brittany A. Stanley, was apprehended due to outstanding arrest warrants from Franklin County. Stanley was subsequently transported to the Williamson County Jail for further questioning.

When questioned by the authorities, Stanley claimed that she was not the owner of the Hummer and had borrowed it from Terry A. Flute. Furthermore, she denied any involvement in the theft of the camper.

Following Stanley’s arrest, Terry Flute voluntarily went to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office for an interview at 4 p.m. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Terry Flute confessed that he, along with his brother Levi Flute and Stanley, drove the Hummer to an unfamiliar location and stole the camper. Terry Flute mentioned that Levi Flute was the one driving the Hummer, while Stanley occupied the passenger seat during the theft.

Acting on this information, deputies proceeded to Levi Flute’s residence, where they successfully located the stolen camper. The camper was recovered, towed from the scene, and the family who owned it was promptly notified of its recovery.

On December 26, Stanley informed the jail staff at 10:40 a.m. that she wished to speak with investigators again. During this subsequent interview, Stanley admitted to lying during the previous interrogation. She confessed that all three individuals, including herself, had indeed stolen the camper and towed it to Levi Flute’s residence. Stanley revealed that they had thoroughly emptied the camper of its contents before abandoning it.

Consequently, investigators went to Levi’s home in an attempt to locate him. Upon their arrival, they noticed that the front door was partially open, prompting them to obtain a search warrant for the premises. The search yielded the recovery of items that were confirmed to belong to the victim and his family.

As a result of her involvement, Brittany Stanley was cited for theft greater than $500 but less than $10,000. She remains in the custody of the Williamson County Jail.

Furthermore, on December 27, the First Judicial Circuit Court of Williamson County issued arrest warrants for Levi J. Flute and Terry A. Flute. Both individuals are currently wanted for theft greater than $500 but less than $10,000.

Sheriff Jeff Diederich is urging the public to provide any information that may assist in locating the two brothers. However, he advises against approaching or attempting to apprehend the suspects directly.
