Accident – Death – Obituary News : (Wilmington, DE 19801) Four teenagers have been charged by the New Castle County Division of Police in connection with a vehicle theft investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at 11:15 a.m., when patrol officers were dispatched to Coleman Methodist Church – Dunleith following a report of a stolen turquoise Ford Flex. The stolen vehicle was later spotted leaving the vicinity of the Christiana Mall approximately an hour later. As officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop near 141 and Commons Boulevard, five suspects emerged from the stolen vehicle and fled the scene. After multiple foot pursuits and with the assistance of the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit, four of the suspects were apprehended and taken into custody.

The four suspects have been identified as a 14-year-old male from Wilmington, a 16-year-old male from New Castle, another 16-year-old male from New Castle, and a third 16-year-old male from New Castle. They have all been charged with one felony count of receiving stolen property, one felony count of conspiracy in the second degree, and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. Following their arraignment by the New Castle County Family Court, they have been released.
