Tragic Single Vehicle Rollover Claims Lives of Two Teens in Alberta

Didsbury, Alta. – In a devastating incident, two teenagers from Didsbury lost their lives in a single vehicle rollover near Crossfield on Wednesday afternoon. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has confirmed that alcohol and road conditions were not responsible for the accident. The victims, a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old female, were reported to not be related. Their names have not been released to the public.

The tragic accident took place on Township Road 292 and Range Road 14 in Mountain View County. The Didsbury RCMP received a distress call about a single vehicle rollover collision at 5:08 pm on December 27. Emergency responders rushed to the scene where they found the two deceased teens.

RCMP Cpl. Troy Savinkoff provided further details about the incident, stating that the vehicle involved in the accident was a pickup truck. He also mentioned that the investigation into the crash is ongoing and will consider multiple factors to determine the cause of the rollover.

While ruling out alcohol and road conditions as possible causes, Cpl. Savinkoff emphasized that the road conditions at the time of the accident were fine. He further explained that the investigation will focus on examining the roadway, skid marks, and other relevant evidence to ascertain the speed and circumstances leading to the tragic rollover.

The Alberta RCMP expressed their condolences to the grieving family and friends of the deceased teens. This heartbreaking incident has left the community in shock and mourning.
